God’s Love vs Human (Worldly) Love

Many over the years have confused what love really is. The truth is there are many different types of love. God’s Love and Love for God and the way humans love and the world teaches us what love is are what we are going to explore in this article. If a person doesn’t understand the type of love being referred to from the one speaking, it could easily cause confusion or unintentional misleading. Meaning when a person whom does NOT know God and what His love really is they could confuse a message about God and His character by comparing His love to the way we as humans love.

The only way to truly know the difference between the two is to experience it for yourself. I encourage each person to explore God’s love and meaning on their own by researching and studying the Bible (God’s Word).

There are MAJOR differences between human love and God’s love and those differences if not understood could be used as a weapon by Satan to keep an individual from knowing God and seeking a relationship with Him. Using the misconceptions, as weapons, to lie to you about your self-worth, God’s character, what your purpose is— the list goes on.

God’s Love

Agape- the highest form of love which is the love of God for man and man for God. God is love, see 1 John 4:8.

God’s love is unconditional God is not mad at you! God’s love will never change for you! You can not earn God’s love as His love is not based on merit, we can never be “good” enough for God’s love and mercy. We love because God first loved us. 1 John 4:19

God’s love is Sacrificial– The bridge between us as sinners and God has been made by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. God loves us so much He sent HIS ONLY SON to die for our sins so we may be saved from an eternity in Hell! WoW!! I mean really think about that would you send your child or even you yourself to be tortured, beaten, and killed on the cross for someone, perhaps this person even denies your existence? This is God’s love He loves us even when we do not choose Him.. John 3:16 Romans 5:8 God’s love is about what He gives and Who He is.. NOT about what you do.

God’s love is forgiving, merciful, and endures all things– Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Love has no fear and endures forever. Love does not keep a record of wrongs. Romans 8:38-39

Human love

According to Wikipedia Love encompasses a range of strong and positive emotional and mental states, from the most sublime virtue or good habit, the deepest interpersonal affection and to the simplest pleasure. An example of this range of meanings is that the love of a mother differs from the love of a spouse, which differs from the love of food. Most commonly, love refers to a feeling of strong attraction and emotional attachment.

When it comes to Human love it is often based on feelings and merit. What someone or something does that makes you feel happy, smitten, and other positive feelings.

Human love is often looked at as “disposable” in todays society. When a marriage gets tough people tend to divorce, when our favorite shoes wear out we throw them away, when something is broke we simply replace it with something new. This is the exact opposite of Gods Unconditional love for us.

Human love can be “tarnished” by inconsistency, lies, betrayal, and intentional or even unintentional hurt. We have a hard time forgiving those whom have hurt us or have done us wrong in some way, which in turn can cause friction and change in the relationship. God’s Love is quick to forgive and as you seen earlier, keeps no record of wrongs, so when we mess up–because we will– we need to repent and ask God for his mercy and forgiveness, this keeps our relationship with God strong and unchanging. When we mess up God already knows and is there waiting and ready to forgive and move on, our only requirements is to ask and receive His forgiveness.

This message is close to my heart because I was once trapped in the misconception of Gods love vs Human love. Chained and bound by the lies from Satan leading me to think I am not worthy of God’s love or any love for that matter. I came to this conclusion on my own by comparing the pastor’s message that God loves me to the words spoken from those in my life whom have hurt me deeply, yet claimed to love me.

It took years for me to come to the realization that God is NOT mad at me because of my past or even current mistakes. I use to think God was punishing me when the trials in life would come and even use to think what have I done so wrong…? I have also felt like I had “let God down” when I messed up, like seriously, God is going to eventually give up on me– just like everyone else. (another lie from Satan)

This just is not true God is patient, slow to anger and quick to forgive. God loves each and every one of us unconditionally, without change, even when we do not feel it or when we make mistakes. Nothing can separate us from His love.

I desperately want people in the world to see they are NEVER alone and no matter what humans do to you God is bigger and God is near, you just have to call on Him. People in the world will let you down –it’s human nature. BUT GOD will never fail! People in the world may lie to you, BUT GOD is a God of His word, He can not lie. People in the world may hurt you, abandon you, disappoint you; BUT GOD is near to the broken hearted and desires for you to live a happy, fulfilling life.

Love Defined

What is love?

An age old question that people have been seeking the answer to for years- some find it- some never do. In a world full of so much hate and misrepresentation it is easy to get lost in what the world says love is. I say this because I was lost– for many years– due to false beliefs of what it meant to love or feel loved– in my case, this had a lot to do with my life experiences and lack of positive reinforcement to set healthy boundaries and concepts of love itself.

So in the spirit of the upcoming “holiday”- Valentine’s Day- I decided to dig deep into the origins of love-where it came from- what it’s suppose to really mean– and how healthy love is shown and received. The month of February will be designated to articles pertaining to love. I write this in hopes it helps someone fill the missing void and redefine their thoughts on the true meaning of Love.

Dictionary.com defines love in the following ways

  • passionate affection for another person
  • a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection
  • sexual passion or desire
  • Then notes Christianity: Gods benevolent attitude toward man–mans attitude of reverent devotion towards God.

Wikipedia defines love like this:

Love encompasses a range of strong and positive emotional and mental states from the most sublime virtue or good habit, the deepest interpersonal affection and to the simplest pleasure.

Wikipedia goes on to explain that Ancient Greek philosophers identified five forms of love: essentially, familial love (in Greek, Storge), friendly love or platonic love (Philia), romantic love (Eros), guest love (Xenia) and divine love (Agape). Modern authors have distinguished further varieties of love: unrequited love, empty love, companionate love, consummate love, infatuated love, self-love, and courtly love. Scientific research on emotion has increased significantly over the past two decades. The color wheel theory of love defines three primary, three secondary and nine tertiary love styles, describing them in terms of the traditional color wheel. The triangular theory of love suggests “intimacy, passion and commitment” are core components of love. Love has additional religious or spiritual meaning. This diversity of uses and meanings combined with the complexity of the feelings involved makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, compared to other emotional states.

In the Bible love does not refer to an emotion but an attitude or behavior.

If we follow history back far enough it all begins in the same place–In the beginning was God. He created all the Earth, all things that walk the Earth and swim in the sea, every creeping creature, and He created man and woman in His image.

Love is of God. God authored the concept of love. Without the presence or existence of God there is no love.

1 John 4:7-11 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

As you may already be able to see our society’s view on love vs what love was designed by God to be are two different things.

Although they have similarities the biggest difference is the love we learn from society is broken– it can and will fail, it’s usually not an unconditional love, society’s version of love is emotionally charged and can change based on circumstances– where God’s purpose and design for love is based on an attitude or behavior. We love because He first loved us.

Let’s explore more of God’s design for love–a love that is fulfilling, peaceful, joyful, and patient among many other things. God describes love in 1 Corinthians 13 as the greatest gift He has given us.

1 Corinthians 13- Love the greatest gift

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Could you imagine a world where we loved ALL people like God tells us to– no matter their background–no matter their sin. I encourage everyone to put love to the test and love like a 1 Corinthians 13 warrior.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank you Lord for loving us in a perfect and unconditional way. Thank you for giving us the ultimate example of love through Jesus. God this world is so lost and has distorted the meaning of love so badly that it’s overall meaning and design has been nearly erased. God we know that You are love and without You there is no love. I pray that you touch each persons heart that reads this, open their eyes and hearts to the truth in Your Word. Remind us that regardless of what the world says love is, we know in You there is a perfect love that drives out fear and it renews us from the inside out. God, fill us with Your Holy Spirit and embrace us in Your loving arms. I pray that those who do not know You would seek to know You and would feel your love and presence surround them. It is in Jesus name I pray.

Amen

Daily Devo- Divine Power

The Bible tells us in more than one place that the same power that was used to raise Jesus from the grave lives in each of God’s children. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, His Holy Spirit comes to dwell within you. It is through the Holy Spirit and our connection with God that gives us the power to break curses, stop the enemies attacks, and declare victory over sin and death.

Ephesians 1:19-20 NKJV

19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

Romans 8:11 NKJV

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit.

Children of God, let this be encouragement to you today.

You have the power through Jesus Christ to declare the enemy to flee from you– the power of healing– and the power of love and truth. All the power belongs to God, He has defeated the enemy and it is by His power and His grace that we are saved and made righteous despite our short-comings.

God has the power for resurrection.

He raised Jesus from the dead and He is still alive today. It is because of this we have confidence that He will also raise us up.

1 Corinthians 6:14 NKJV And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power.

God’s power is directly tied to the Holy Spirit. God gives us His power through sending the Holy Spirit to live within us. We are spiritually united with Jesus in His death and resurrection, which is what has freed us from our sins.

Romans 6:4-7 NKJV

Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin.

It is by the power of the Holy Spirit and our knowledge of God and Jesus as our Lord and Savior that we are able to live a life of godliness.

2 Peter 1:2-3 NKJV Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue

Through the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells within us:

Take time to worship God for who He is and the power we have in Him!

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank you Lord for the sword of the spirit, your Word. Thank you for sending Your Holy Spirit to live within me. Lord, I confess there are many times I try to beat the enemies attacks in my own power, please forgive me Lord. Help me to remember we have the same power in us that raised Jesus from the grave. God, Your Word tells us that through You and in Your power we can quench the fiery darts of the enemy, we can cast down every stronghold, and bring every thought into accordance with Your Will. Lord, I am so thankful that because I have the Holy Spirit living within me- I have the power in Jesus to overcome and be victorious. Lord, remind us that when we are under attack You are in the midst and will help us have favor and will fight for us. In Jesus name I pray

Amen

Daily Devo-Compromising Peace

Are you a people pleaser? Do you often put your own wants, beliefs, and needs to the side to keep peace among friends, family, or co-workers? Maybe you feel your worth comes from what others think, say, or feel about you. Who do you live your life striving to please- God or others?

I am a people pleaser. I know this is not what God has called me to be and I am working hard on learning to stand up for myself and God.

For many years I was living my life under the control of my father. Day after day I willfully gave him all the power over my life. Allowing him to control every decision I made- from when I do yard work to how I raised my child.

It was totally unhealthy!

The worst part was it went on for many years and I didn’t even realize it was happening. I was 30 years old when God showed me CLEARLY what He was doing in my life.

I was going through a period of trials and heartache lasting about four years that finally ended when I became FULLY obedient to God. When crying out to Him about the situations going on at the time God asked me, “Are you going to serve Gary your earthly father, or Me, God THE father? You can’t do both!”

I wept. I knew EXACTLY what God was saying to me.

There were countless times that I did the opposite of what God was telling me to do to please my father and avoid any verbal abuse, physical abuse, or confrontation of any kind.

I longed for my father to be loving, positively involved, and simply proud of who I was- not who he wanted me to be.

The mentioning of God would make his skin crawl. Unfortunately, my father had many demons that he carried throughout his life starting in his own childhood. This made it very difficult when trying to serve God- yet please him.

God wants us to be fully obedient to Him- He doesn’t want sacrifice’s or partial obedience- He wants us ALL IN. I would pray and ask for direction and wisdom- God would show me something and tell me to take action- then I would try to compromise with Him to be obedient yet not upset anyone else.

We can NOT only do a small part of what God tells us to do. When we know He is leading us we have to be bold in Him. Stepping out and standing up in love and not compromising our own morals or relationship with God so others won’t be upset.

Living in a compromised peace is not what God wants for us. We are not to me conformed to this world but TRANSFORMED by the renewing of our mind through Jesus.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Romans 12:2 NKJV

The world is becoming harder and harder to be a Christian in but we need to be sure we are making our own decisions and not allowing others to influence them. The Bible tells us to stand FIRM on His word and put on the whole armor of God. Our only responsibility is do what God wants us to do.

Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.

1 Corinthians 16:13 NKJV

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Ephesians 6:11 NKJV

When we spend time studying God’s word and seeking Him- He lights a fire within our heart that can not be put out. You should know however, when you are on fire for God, people in the world will reject you- BUT He has overcome the world and we should not fear.

Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

2 Timothy 3:12 NKJV

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33 NKJV

We are not created to blend in with the world. In fact, it is quite the opposite- we are created to standout- to be bold and courageous- and to lean NOT on our own understanding.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;

Proverbs 3:5 NKJV

God promises if we stand firm in our faith-seek Him above all else- and love with all our heart, mind, and soul- than we will have a peace that surpasses all understanding.

and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7 NKJV

God is with you wherever you go! We do not have to live a life in compromised peace. It is time to stand-up, stand-out, and stand-frim on the truth.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9 NKJV

Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10 NKJV

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for this beautiful day and for offering us peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, the world can be such a sinful and misleading representation of You and our destiny, help us to have discernment and knowledge. Let us not lean on our own understanding but trust in You with all our hearts. It is election day Lord, and the stress and tension is very tight. I pray each person would be lead by Your Holy Spirit and remember regardless of the outcome, You are still in control.

Lord I pray that each of us would have the courage to stand strong on Your word and stand up for what is right and true in You. Lord, help us to remember that we are all children of God and You want the world to choose love over hate- peace over strife, and truth over deceit.

Guide our steps and show us the way as we move forward through the election process. I pray Your will be done and the hearts of people all over the world would be open to see You.

Lord I pray for both candidates that each would hold themselves with grace and dignity. That you would protect each of them and their families. Lord I pray people would find love in their hearts and choose to support and uplift regardless of the outcome. I pray for the safety of America, guidance moving forward, and that love would fill the hearts of Your people all across the world. In Jesus mighty name I pray.

Amen

Daily Devo- We all have Spiritual Gifts

A spiritual gift is a concept in Christianity that refers to an extraordinary power given to each person by God, our Creator, through the Holy Spirit. God has given each of us a different gift according to His plan and purpose for our life. It is our responsibility to seek Him and use our gifts to strengthen the church (the people; not the building) and share the message of Christ.

The Bible refers to spiritual gifts in multiple places; giving examples and direction on what we are to do with the gifts He has given us.

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

Ephesians 4:11-13 NKJV

We shouldn’t be jealous or envious of another person’s gift(s), God has chosen and designed each of us for a specific purpose- tailored to who we are called to be- in Him.

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

Romans 12:6-8 NKJV

I myself have often “wished” I had other gifts. However, I quickly began to learn to stop chasing “dreams” that were not meant for me. Stop wasting my gifts, to pursue and wish away my life trying to be something or someone I am not called to be. To start embracing what God has equipped me to do and who He called me to be in His kingdom.

for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

1 Corinthians 12:8-11 NKJV

I encourage each person to dig into God’s word-spend time in prayer- and discover who You are and what gift(s) God has blessed you with.

Then, I encourage you to find ways to use and share your gift(s) with others.

As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 4:10-11 NKJV

Discovering who you are in Christ and seeking to fulfill your purpose in Him is the most freeing decision you could ever make. Learning to embrace and even celebrate the things that make you “different” releases the pressure of feeling the need to measure up to someone else’s standard.

Let’s Pray

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for being a father who loves us and has chosen us before we were born. Thank you Lord, for blessing each of us with spiritual gifts to grow Your kingdom and share the good news of Jesus Christ. I confess that often times I get wrapped up chasing “dreams” of this world and lose focus of seeking Your purpose for my life. Lord, I pray that You would lead me and guide me in the way You want me to go. Show me the gifts you have blessed me with and how You want me to use them to glorify You. Thank you Lord for Your many blessings in Jesus mighty name I pray.

Amen

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Could you imagine a world where we loved ALL people like God tells us to– no matter their background–no matter their sin. I encourage everyone to put love to the test and love like a 1 Corinthians 13 warrior.

God Never Fails

Have you ever felt like you have prayed and prayed about something and it just seems as if God is not hearing you? Maybe you feel like God is just ignoring you–He is mad at you– or worse, He is punishing you. I want to assure you today that God is NOT mad at you and He is definitely not punishing you. This is a common misbelief about God and His character–a straight lie from the devil himself, to keep you shackled in worthlessness, fear, anxiety, doubt, and disbelief. Satan uses many different lies to attack our minds– to entrap us in our feelings and to keep us focused on the negative.

God is one of Mercy, Forgiveness, and Unconditional Love. He is the answer– not the problem. He is the head–not the tail. He is the King of all Kings. God never fails.

How can I boldly proclaim “God NEVER Fails!”?

Here are 5 evidential reasons with scriptures from the Bible to show You are Loved and God will never fail you!

God chose you before you were born!

Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

God made each of us- individually- for a specific purpose in the world. Jeremiah shows us that He has ordained (appointed) us and sanctified (set apart as or declare holy; free from sin; purify) us BEFORE we were even born. We each have a purpose that God wants to see through. Why would He fail us- when He designed us? He doesn’t. He desires we live for the purpose He created us for. He desires to fellowship with us–to grow closer in a relationship–as the good good Father, that He is.

1 Corinthians 1:9
God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

God doesn’t lie.

Numbers 23:19
“God is not a man, that He should lie,
Nor a son of man, that He should repent.
Has He said, and will He not do?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

God is not of this world-He is not human. Though people in the world may let you down- God will not. God is one who makes promises and KEEPS them. The world is full of sin, pain, darkness, and hate- it should come as no surprise that in a broken world- it is broken promise, after broken promise. People are not perfect- no matter how hard they try or want to be. Guaranteed every single person has broken a promise to someone-probably more than once. It may not be intentional but things happen-life happens.

BUT GOD- is a promise keeper! He has an untouchable track record and will always work things for the good to those who love Him.

God will never abandon you!

Though you walk through deep waters- experience seasons of turmoil and heartache-push through periods of darkness and struggle- You are NOT alone. God did not promise us we would not have troubles- in fact, He told us just the opposite. The Bible tells us in the world we will have troubles but we can still be at peace- remain happy- and rejoice- for He has overcome the world.

John 16:33
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

God is near to the broken hearted (Ps. 34:18)-He hears our cries for help(Ps. 34:17) and sees every tear(Ps. 56:8). God promises He will never leave you or forsake you(Deut. 31:6)- He will be your refuge in the storm(Ps. 46:1)- He will hide you in His secret place and protect you from the enemy (Ps. 91).

God is our provider.

In the busy world we live in, often times we get lost in the game of cat and mouse. Chasing the next best thing- chasing the life of “success”- trying to build a life that says “I did it.” The life I am talking about looks a lot like this:

high paying job, new car(s),new home (often far larger then what is truly necessary), name brand clothing, all the newest technology on the market , etc.

This is what “success” looks like in the eyes of the world. Becoming too “busy” trying to self-serve and provide the things we want– in our way– in our timing. We are a society of impatience and pride. Which often robs us of our true purpose in life– to laugh, love, be fruitful and enjoy life-casting our cares upon God.

Don’t get me wrong- all of these things are nice to have and if we are blessed enough to have them- we should enjoy them. I am not saying you shouldn’t have nice things or desire to have nice things in life-BUT I am saying not to get so lost in chasing the material things that your never take time to rest and enjoy life.

Often times when we are caught up in chasing our career or the next best thing– other areas in our life get neglected. It’s usually the one’s that really should be priority- like our relationship with God- our spouse- our children. Satan has so many people falling into his trap and believing this big lie-

Money and Material Possessions = Success & Happiness

The Bible warns us in Mark 8:36-37 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

One excuse I hear from people as to why they don’t seek God or make time for a relationship with Him is — they just don’t have time– or they simply have some other need they find a priority over God.

I think it is safe to say our society as a whole are worriers. Stress-Anxiety-Depression are at all time highs. We tend to worry about what we will eat, drink, wear, where we will sleep and so on. God does not want us to waste our time worrying. He wants us to pray- seek Him- and cast our cares on Him.

1 Peter 5:7
casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

God will supply our every need. He created everything- He knows what we need before we even ask.

Philippians 4:19
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

God will provide your every need- it may not be what you want, how you want it, or when you want it. But He always provides what we need when we need it. The Bible tells us His timing is perfect- never early, never late.

His strength is made perfect in our weakness– He provides every need physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The Bible shows us throughout the scripture that God is our provider- our comforter- our counselor- our helper- our healer, our refuge from the storm, our redeemer- our protector- our strength- our hope-our joy- the rock of our salvation- our Savior- our Father- our all in all. God is love.

God never changes.

We live in a world where change comes just as sure as the sun will rise. Though our world is always evolving- always changing. One thing remains the same and always will– Jesus Christ is the same today, yesterday and forevermore. Which means- the same Jesus that healed the blind and deaf- that rose the dead- that split the sea and walked on water- is still alive and still doing miracles today!

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Malachi 3:6
“For I am the Lord, I do not change;
Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.

Society often tries to make it seem as if God is no longer relevant. That “times” have changed- the world has evolved- and there is no place for God. The enemy wants us to believe this-as a way to excuse our sinful behavior and make us feel better about doing things against God’s will- to keep us distracted from all of the blessings He gives us daily.

James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

The world today will twist and turn scripture to make it fit what they want it to mean–take things out of context– or even leave some parts out all together. Yet, the truth remains God’s word and God’s character never changes and never fails.

Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
