As believers in Christ we are not to be trying to muster up our own strength to do the work of God, just as we aren’t to try to control our life or circumstances.
We are called to rely on God- to call upon Him in our time of need.
But those who wait on the LordIsaiah 40:31 NKJV
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
Sometimes life gets to us and we just don’t feel like completing another task– like our devotional time. These feelings are normal- we should confess to God and tell Him we do not feel like doing anything else for the day and ask Him to renew your strength and help you to have quality quiet time with Him.
The key is to take it to God. To call upon God in every area of your life. Surrender your life to Him and He will sustain you and help you through.
Thank You Lord for Your promise of renewed strength. Help me to remember the scripture in Isaiah 40:31 in times of exhaustion throughout life. Lord, I confess and I am sorry that many times I try to do things in my own strength, power, and will. Lord, forgive me. I pray for discernment when making my schedule and ask that You help me to be strong in my spiritual discipline. God, I will do my best to come to You first in all things- I surrender my control to You in Jesus mighty name I pray.
